MMe-Site-Kristen-“My challenge was that I had two small children who were exhausting me, and I had some weight to lose that I really couldn’t get off. Joining this program was the beginning to finding a whole different way of functioning in my life. I immediately, once I started eating for my Type, had more energy, and I started looking at food differently. I was asked questions that no one had ever asked me before in a nutrition program like, “How does this food make you feel when you eat it?” and “How do you function in your daily life?” All of these things, along with taking the Metabolic Typing test, focused so much on me as an individual. I’m asked, “Ok, what do YOU need in order to be healthy, feel energized, feel well?” It’s a new way of looking at things.

This structure is really helpful because you finally know what works and doesn’t work for your body, so as you’re planning your meals, it’s actually easier. I can go out to a restaurant, and I cook at home, because now I know the right proteins, fats, and carbohydrates for your body (and there seems to be an infinite number of ways to put them together), plus I use the cookbook for my Type.

I later brought my husband in and got him Typed as well, and that has helped our family a lot, because the two of us having the same approach and the same understanding has really changed the way we function and how we feed our family. It’s no longer just mom coming in and saying “here you go, now we are all eating this.” Now we are understanding how everyone is different in how we take care of ourselves and nourish our bodies. I felt that it was extremely successful for me in my life and my family’s life, and the wonderful byproduct of that is losing some weight as well.

When you follow Metabolic Typing, it works. It makes you feel like the food you are eating feels good in your body. It fuels it wonderfully. I feel more vibrant and more healthy than I ever have, and I think that in itself is all the evidence I need to know that if I stay on this path, I’m going to be good to go for a long time.

I really would recommend this to anybody, even if it’s not a diet you are looking for, if it’s just a way to remain healthy for the rest of your life. I think this is a fantastic approach. MMe-Site-John-“My biggest challenge before Metabolic Typing was not really understanding what I’m supposed to eat. I finally decided that I don’t really know what I’m doing, and I need someone who lives this every day. Through this program, it was the first time I ever really understood what I am eating. Low fat snacks were not the answer. I’m no longer “Living To Eat”, I’m “Eating To Live.” When I go to grab some food, I’m actually asking myself, “Do I really need this?” It makes you question, “Am I eating mindlessly, or am I eating mindfully and really paying attention to what I’m eating?” And this stops you from overeating. I feel like I’m not a slave to the food anymore, it’s the other way around… the food is actually serving me now. It’s allowing me to function better in my day. It’s the first time in my whole life I’ve felt like this… I just wish I knew this when I was 20.

But it’s not just about what to eat, but also how to eat it. It’s actually kind of fun now putting the meals together, because it’s no longer just gobble up everything on your plate, you are actually investing yourself in your meal. This really gets you thinking about what you are eating, which makes me not eat as much. It’s pretty informative to me, after all this time, that what you put in your body really matters.

The changes already, in everything, in energy level, in awareness, in size… The numbers are great, everyone wants to lose weight, but the difference in how you feel is amazing. I’m on a good road. It’s nice to feel this way.
Bottom line, if I don’t do this, it’s on me. And that is one of the most fascinating things about this… it’s up to me. It’s me making the food choices. So if I fall off this, it’s crazy because it’s me. I should never have to go to somebody else or do another program because this is just me following what I know to be the right foods for me. The proof is in the pudding. You just FEEL it. When you feel it, it’s a pretty impressive thing. When you feel that difference in yourself, it’s kind of like a switch goes off in your head.
